Biography

Amanda Walls, O.D. has been owner and doctor of Falcon Family Eye Care since 2013. Before coming out to Falcon, she was a pediatric optometrist in Colorado Springs. Dr. Walls spent her first year out of school practicing in Houston, TX. She attended optometry school in Memphis, TN at Southern College of Optometry. As President of the student body, Amanda had the opportunity to become involved in every aspect of optometry.

It is a great joy for Dr. Walls to serve the people of Falcon as their primary eye care doctor. She enjoys being a member of the Calhan Lions Club, supporting the little league and participating in community events. Amanda plans to be in Falcon for a long time, and claims the best part of the job is “seeing the families of Falcon year after year.”

Dr Walls has two daughters and a husband who works as a private practice therapist in town. She enjoys playing soccer, running and spending time with loved ones in her free time.

Dr. Kate Barton, Optometrist

Dr. Kate Barton is an optometrist who strives to provide compassionate and evidence-based eye care. She joined Falcon Family Eyecare in 2022 and enjoys connecting with her patients. Dr. Barton graduated cum laude from the Honors College at Colorado State University with a degree in biological sciences. She then graduated cum laude with her Doctorate of Optometry from the Arizona College of Optometry at Midwestern University. She has volunteered on several service trips and had an internship at Evans Army Community Hospital on Fort Carson. Dr. Barton enjoys learning new things, being outside, and spending time with her family.
